‘Buwawa’ or ‘Rag Doll’ is a very good opportunity for younger Chinese students to practice some of the words they will already know very well, such as mama and baba (mom and dad) as well as words that they have likely encountered before in some of our other Chinese nursery rhymes; words like ‘snow’ (xue) and ‘heaven’ (tianshang) for example. They will also learn some more advanced words in this song such as the Mandarin for ‘possessed’, ‘grieved’, ‘quietly’ and ‘to return home’.
